Southern Baptist Leader Told Student It Was ‘Good’ She Was Raped
JUNE 3, 2018 BY MICHAEL STONE
Paige Patterson, former president of the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, tells student it was a “good thing” that she was raped.
Patterson, former president of the Southern Baptist Convention, was fired as president of the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary last week after disturbing facts came to light about the religious leader’s over-the-top misogyny, and his deplorable treatment of sexual assault victims.
According to reports, Paterson lied about his treatment of a rape victim, and tried to isolate another rape victim from police so he could “break her down.”
The fired Southern Baptist seminary leader who wanted to get an alleged rape victim alone to “break her down” also said it was a “good thing” she had been raped and that her future husband wouldn’t care if she was a virgin or not…
Paige Patterson, a giant in the Southern Baptist world, was fired from the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth on May 30 in response to his handling of sexual assault allegations. He had been pushed to president emeritus May 23.The three alleged assaults took place in October 2014 and April 2015 and were reported in August 2015. The alleged assailant, according to the victim’s attorney, Stuart Cochran of Dallas, was a Southwestern student and employee.“I am told he said it was a ‘good thing’ my client had been raped and that her future husband wouldn’t care if she was a virgin or not,” Cochran said of Paige in a statement to the Star-Telegram. “He threatened to sic lawyers on her [mother] for questioning his leadership at the school when she asked why the assailant was allowed on campus.”
That’s right, Patterson wanted to be alone with a rape victim so he could “break her down” before the police could talk to her. In addition, he also told her it was a “good thing” that she had been raped and that her future husband “wouldn’t care if she was a virgin or not.”
This is not the first time Patterson has made headlines for being a misogynistic pig. Earlier this year reports surfaced that Patterson claimed that it’s “always wrong” to support a woman seeking a divorce, even if that woman is being physically abused by her husband.
In a recently released tape first reported on by the Texas Statesman, Patterson was asked what he recommends for women “who are undergoing genuine physical abuse from their husbands, and the husband says they should submit.”
It depends on the level of abuse to some degree. I have never in my ministry counseled that anybody seek a divorce, and I do think that’s always wrong counsel. There have been, however, an occasion or two when the level of the abuse was serious enough, dangerous enough, immoral enough that I have counseled temporary separation and the seeking of help. I would urge you to understand that that should happen only in the most serious of cases. . . More often, when you face abuse, it is of a less serious variety.
Later in the tape Patterson says he would give this advice to women being abused by their husbands:
you have to do what you can at home to be submissive in every way that you can and to elevate him
That’s right, Patterson’s advice to a woman being beaten and physically abused by her husband was “to be submissive” and to “elevate” her abuser.
In yet another example of the depraved misogyny and immorality at the heart of conservative Christianity, Patterson argued that it is “biblical” for adult men to lust after underage girls.
In a recently uncovered sermon Paige is caught joking about lusting after a “very attractive young co-ed” who he noted “wasn’t more than about 16.” Commenting on the underage girl, Patterson tells his large congregation:
Mmmmmm… Let me just say, she was nice.
In the sermon, the Southern Baptist leader went on to suggest that lusting after the teen was “just being biblical.”
Bottom line: Prominent Southern Baptist leader Paige Patterson tells women being abused by their husbands that divorce is not an option, justifies pedophilia as “just being biblical,” and once told a student that it was a “good thing” that she was raped.

Republican Florida Representative Mike Hill facing calls for resignation

This is a hate crime.Time to stop this hate. Demand for Hill to step down. Don't vote for this thing who says he's a Good Christian. He's a evil man like Hitler.
According to their Christianity they are suppose to love thy neighbor and according to the Christian Bible Jesus was never married and hung out with all men. Wonder if he was Gay? And if G-d created men and women in his own image maybe God was a cross dresser or gay, lesbian, transsexual or fluid gender.
We are now discovering those who protest so much in Congress against the LGBTQAI+ community are latent Homosexuals. Hill are you one of them?
Republican Rep. Mike Hill thinks it’d be funny to kill all gay people
Homophobic Florida Representative Mike Hill recently laughed when a constituent suggested he introduce legislation condemning gay people to death.
A citizen comments: “In 1 Corinthians, it says that a man who has an affair with another man will be put to death.”Hill’s response?“It says that in the Old Testament, too.”Another attendee asks, “Can you introduce legislation?”Chuckles are audible. The state representative joins the laughter. “I wonder how that would go over?” Hill says.
It’s unsurprising that Hill would find such a suggestion worthy of laughter. In the past, he has said that God is judging the nation because of the “homosexual movement,” he says that Pride parades “promote the gay agenda” and he once suggested, “Let’s replace LGBTQ with a ‘?’ That covers the whole thing.”
In a subsequent series of tweets, Hill tried to defend himself, writing:
Fake news, Carlos! And you know it. I never said I wanted to kill anyone! Instead, I am being attacked because I have made a strong stand to protect the preborn in the womb. You should focus on doing your job better instead of every word that proceeds out of my mouth. #Obsession.[I said I didn’t recall laughing or the comment] before I heard the audio. This event happened a week ago Thursday. I laughed at the nonsense of running legislation that the gentleman in the audience suggested. And you know it. Don’t join the #FakeNewsMediaIf you listened to the audio and still come to that conclusion [that I support killing gay people], then you really are a partisan hack.[My resignation] ain’t gonna happen! Your attacks are because I don’t back down from strong conservative values including protecting the preborn!
Hill might be interested to know that the Bible might have originally been okay with gay sex.

TAMPA (WFLA) - Pensacola State Representative Mike Hill is coming under fire from Florida Democrats and some members of his own party for an exchange he had with a constituent who suggested Hill should sponsor legislation that would make homosexuality punishable by death.
While Hill didn’t agree with the suggestion, he’s been accused of not being critical enough and laughing during the exchange.
“A statement that just came out of the audience, I tried to brush it aside,” said Hill.
Hill said the exchange has been misrepresented.
“There was no way at all that I condoned or even said the words that gays should be executed,” said Hill. "That's just absurd.”
Some Republican’s, including House Speaker Jose Oliva, took to Twitter and called on Hill to apologize saying in part, “I believe he owes his colleagues an apology and he owes the Republican caucus a better example of political courage.”
Representative Hill has not apologized.
Instead, he has said he’s the victim of a 'social media lynching'.
“They know I'm a Christian,” said Hill. "They know that I am true to my convictions and they know that I am going to bring the heartbeat detection bill to this next legislative session.”
“They know I'm a Christian,” said Hill. "They know that I am true to my convictions and they know that I am going to bring the heartbeat detection bill to this next legislative session.”
Democratic Representative Carlos Guillermo Smith said Hill should resign or be ousted from the Legislature.
“As a gay man who has survived anti-gay hate violence myself... this is completely unacceptable,” said Smith.
A rally has been scheduled in Pensacola Monday evening demanding Hill’s resignation.
Hill said he has received violent threats since the Pensacola News Journal first ran the story this weekend andhas threatened legal action against the paper if any of the threats come to fruition.
